Summary:
Registered Dietitian, with two Masters Degrees in Dietetics and Adult Education, over thirty years experience and training, including 13 years as dietitian surveyor/trainer, CA Dept of Public Health. Participated on many hundreds of hospital and nursing home survey teams. Provided the training in the “New Surveyor Academy” in Sacramento on how to survey dietary services for 13 years. Currently providing guidance to healthcare dietary leadership and collaborating staff (Nursing, Infection Control, Quality) regarding CA state and demanding CMS federal regulatory requirements. These include: Mock PreSurveys, GAP Analysis, & development of Plans of Correction after difficult surveys. Developed 8 CEU self study dietary training manuals & numerous national articles/presentations. Has volunteered extensively on professional committees/in leadership. Advocate for patient/resident choice and dining rights. Honored as “2010 Distinguished Member” at annual FNCE (Food and Nutrition Conference) of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
